Bedeutsame technische Fortschritte vollzogen sich beispielhaft am Webstuhl und wurden anschließend übertragen. \nDie einzelnen Arbeitsschritte von der Faser bis zum Gewebe zeigen Spinnerinnen und Weberinnen im Technikmuseum. Fasern gleiten durch die Hand und bilden\, indem sie sich miteinander verdrehen\, am Spinnrad einen Faden. \nViele Fäden werden zum Herstellen einer Webkette gebraucht. Indem der Schussfaden mit dem Schiffchen eingetragen wird\, entsteht durch die kreuzweise Verbindung von Kette und Schuss ein Gewebe. Unzählige Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten gibt es beim Weben. Einige grundlegende Bindungen zeigen wir im Museum.
